"The Salty Feeling"

hey ana, i loved your story, it was very cool and i could picture it in my mind, so it was very detailed. love it! you see, ana is a good writer too! but now, it's my turn to show that i can write, too. so, i'm gonna push all of my silliness and craziness away, and get more emotional. comment this post so i know how you felt when you read this, i just want to know if i can really get someone emotional with my writing. thanks! ok, let's get to the story...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

hmm. seaweed. salt. extreme wind. of course! the beach.

i was just finishing my masterpiece of a sandcastle. i just put sand in my bucket, flipped it over, and stuck shells i liked on the top. it's my favorite kind of way to do a sandcastle, simple, yet cute.

my mom was sun-tanning, reading a book. my sister was swimming, as always. my mom always called her a fish because of all the time she would spend swimming at the beach.

i looked upwards, into the sky. it was pearl-blue. the glistening yellow-gold sunlight hurt my eyes, so i squinted. clouds were visiting, but they were barely visible, just white puffs. then, i looked to my sandcastle, and around it. the beige sand was warm, the way i like it. i prefer this way because i can lie down the sand without a towel and be perfectly comfortable.

i did this, and lied down on my side. i started playing with the sand, swirling it around, flinging it, and just taking the palm of my hand and stroking the sand. i started to fling it, and the wind pushed it to my face. pthhhhhhhh! ugh! sand in my mouth! i figured i had to take a dip in the water. so i walked down to the shore, and stuck my feet in the water, and i kept wlking until the water reached above my waist, then squinted my eyes closed and plugged my nose. i saw my sister, and we waved to each other.

SPLASH! i went under-water.

i opened my eyes for fun, black darkness wasn't what i wanted to see, even though i didn't have my goggles with me. i opened them, and i looked around... just seaweed and sea-green water. hm. i went back up, and my eyes felt irritated and salty. time to walk up on back to our stuff.

freezing, i wrapped myself tight in a towel. i sat in my beach chair and waited for the sun to dry me. i felt warmness from the sun. the clouds came in and pushed the sun away... no more warmth!

i ended up sleeping. but it was just a cat nap, so it was about 20 min. long. i felt for my hair, and it was half-dry. groaning because i was cold and the sun dissapeared, i grabbed a cola and a snack-bag filled with goldfish. yum, my favorite snack for the beach! :)

after my delicious snack, i unwrapped myself from the now wet towel, (using wet towels always bothers me) and grabbed my book. reading makes you smarter! :)

but i don't wanna go, mommy! the words my sister said. oh well, we had to go, it was getting close to dusk. i couldn't wait to have a shower, i felt all salty and my hair stiffened. (which irritates me SO much..) before i knew it, night came.

my day at the beach was over.
